Fungicide
Effects on VAM
There are reports that a fungicide can inhibit, have no effect or actually stimulate VAM development. For this list, a fungicide is considered inhibitory if it was reported to inhibit regardless of the other contradictory reports. There are many different trade names for the same fungicidal chemical. No fungicide eradicates (i.e., no development) mycorrhizae, they only decrease development for a short time after fungicide application (depending on persistence). Most foliar sprays of any fungicide, except those that are systemic like bayleton, do not affect mycorrhizae because the fungicide doesn't come in contact with the mycorrhizae in soil. There are no reports of any insecticide or herbicide, applied at label rates, affecting mycorrhizal development. Click Here to download the FREE Acrobat 4.05 Reader
