PHC MOSQUITO DUNKS:
New Biological Mosquito Control Product
Plant Health Care, Inc. introduces PHC™ Mosquito Dunks™ for long-term biological control of mosquitos in aquatic or wetland areas. Mosquito Dunks are disc-shaped, floating briquettes that release effective levels of insecticidal bacteria-Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis-for a period of 30 days or more under typical environmental conditions.

Mosquito Dunks may be used in all types of mosquito breeding areas. The product can even be used as a pre-flood treatment. Apply Mosquito Dunks to dry areas which are known or suspected to become breeding sites, such as woodland pools and abandoned swimming pools. When flooding occurs, Mosquito Dunks float to the surface and start releasing the beneficial bacteria.

To order Mosquito Dunks or request additional information, call 01442 864431. For in-depth information about managing ponds and other waterways, visit www.planthealthcare.com on the Internet.

New Injectable Mycorrhizal Inoculation
Technology Introduced

Multiple Action Mycorrhizal Fungal and Biostimulant Product
In response to customer requests, Plant Health Care has developed a universal mycorrhizal fungal and beneficial bacteria product for inoculation of most tree and shrub species with soil injection equipment. MycorTree™ Injectable, which contains multiple species of mycorrhizal fungi, is now combined with the company's PHCTM BioPak™ product that contains organic biocatalysts and beneficial bacteria. With a single injection of MycorTree Injectable, arborists can introduce the major fungal and microbial components that make forest soils so productive for plants.

MycorTree Injectable contains a proprietary "cocktail" of beneficial ectomycorrhizal and endomycorrhizal (VAM) fungi. The new, improved formulation now also contains nitrogen-fixing, phosphorus-solubilizing and growth-promoting bacteria. To improve the nutrition of the soil for plants, as well as the introduced fungal and microbial organisms, MycorTree Injectable also includes biocatalysts, such as humic acid, sea kelp and yucca plant extracts, 17 amino acids, proteins, vitamins and sugars.
MycorTree Injectable may be used at a standard rate to improve the root growth and vigor of B&B transplants and established trees and shrubs and at a higher rate for plants in highly compacted soils or confined rooting areas. The product is available in ½ lb. bags. To order a Plant Health Care, Inc. product catalogue or to request additional information about MycorTree Injectable, call 01442 864431

MycorTM VAM Nursery/Media Mix Introduced
Only Pelletized VAM Fungal Inoculant on the Market

Using newly developed technology, Plant Health Care (PHC) introduces Mycor VAM Nursery/Media Mix, a highly effective, dry, pelletized spore inoculant for establishing vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) on roots of many nursery and greenhouse plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, grasses and herbs. Extensive independent field research studies have shown VAM inoculated plants have better survival and growth, absorb more phosphorus and other mineral elements, and are more resistant to soil-borne pathogens than plants without VAM mycorrhizae.

The PHC, Inc. pelletized VAM technology represents a significant breakthrough in the commercial development of VA mycorrhizal fungi inoculants. PHC, Inc. is the first and only company in the world to develop a pathogen-free pelletized form of VA inoculum for easy application to nursery and greenhouse soils and potting mixes. The main advantage of the new PHC, Inc. pelletized inoculum is that growers can be confident that they receive a pathogen-free, quality controlled product that adheres consistently to labeled specifications.

Mycor Nursery/Media Mix contains a guaranteed minimum of 40,000 live, viable VAM fungal spores per 1 lb. of product. Mycorrhizal fungi only colonize juvenile non-woody roots, not woody or white water roots. For best results, apply Mycor Nursery/Media Mix with a root biostimulant product to encourage new root growth for fast colonization.

To order a PHC Nursery Growers Guide or request additional information, call 01442 864431. For in-depth information about mycorrhizal fungi, you may also visit www.planthealthcare.co.uk

TerraPamTM and BioPamTM Tackifier Products from PHC, Inc.
Provide Versatility for Successful Hydroseeding

Two new polyacrylamide tackifier products that offer flexibility in hydromulching are now available from Plant Health Care TerraPam™, a highly effective tackifier, improves the success of hydroseeding by binding together the various components of the hydromulch. BioPam™ contains the same polyacrylamide tackifier, as well as BioPak™, a biostimulant with beneficial bacteria to improve seed establishment when hydroseeding.
Both products form a water-absorbing soil layer, which improves water penetration and retention, and maintains a cool soil temperature. These factors are important for optimum germination and soil stability. TerraPam, in particular, is an effective binder for dirt roads that dramatically reduces erosion and dust problems. BioPam is a good selection when seed establishment is a priority. The water-absorbing crust formed by its tackifier protects seeds from the sun. In addition, the BioPam formulation contains nitrogen-fixing, phosphorus-solubilizing and growth-promoting bacteria that stimulate healthy, vigorous growth of new seedlings. Both TerraPam and BioPam are low toxicity products.

TerraPam is available in 6 lb. and 24 lb. boxes. BioPam is packaged in 5 lb. and 20 lb. boxes. To order a Plant Health Care, Inc. product catalogue or to request additional information about TerraPam and BioPam, call 01442 864431
